Prototype of the IsoGridBike

Together with the Paul Martin company and partners of Kunststoffnetzwerk Rheinland-Pfalz the first model of a futuristic IsoGridBike was designed as integral lattice structure and manufactured by CirComp.

A structure with outstanding lightweight potential could be created by following organic pattern in filament winding technology with continuous carbon fiber reinforced ribs. The high strength and stiffness of continuous carbon fibre composite surpass the potential of 3D printed structures by far.

CirComp GmbH Kaiserslautern and the Institute for Composite Materials GmbH (IVW) received the Innovation Award of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate 2016 in the category "Cooperation" for their project "CyWick" (New generation high-temperature resistant fiber composite components) by Secretary for Economic Affairs, Eveline Lemke.
